Finding natural possibilities of materials and production techniques to achieve unique products/artworks is one of the basic themes on Studio's production. As there's randomness in nature, I'm including some of that into my works. Various details are often at the structure of surface or decoration.

When products are manufactured somewhere else (like Lola bowls) design principles can be very different to achieve best results.

Kristian Venäläinen is a versatile, widely experienced designer and design educator, having worked at the Rosenthal Creative Center in Germany; as Head of Department for Ceramics & Glass at the Kuopio Academy of Design, Finland, and Interim Dean at Finlandia University's International School of Art and Design in the USA.
